While improving considerably, health care for veterans is still seriously lacking in many areas. Many VA facilities are in shoddy condition and waiting times to see a primary care physician are unreasonable. We are the strongest country in the world and enjoy all of our freedoms, because of our servicemen & women, and they deserve nothing less than the best possible care. It is up to us, our fellow veterans and every American, to ensure that this becomes a reality.
Write to your Senators and Congressmen and urge them to support legislation to fully fund all veterans benefits bills. The government continually promises the best of care for our wounded heroes, but their actions belie their words. Get involved with a veterans service organization, volunteer your time and energy to show our veterans that we do appreciate the sacrifices that they have made for us.
